(LINK to one-hour OSPI Forum Recording and Questions 5/20/24)by Staff Reporter. In his book, "The Queering of the American Child—How a New School Religious Cult Poisons the Minds and Bodies of Normal Kids," author Logan Lansing tells us the word "queer" is no longer a pejorative in certain academic and activist circles. It is embraced by education reformers as a much-needed change to conventional norms. Reformers believe students need to "become queer" in order to break out of "bigoted" conventional social dictates. This ideology has resulted in new levels of childhood depression, dysfunction, and a notable lack of academic achievement. It is compelled under a banner of "compassion" and "inclusion" but often alienates students from their parents or guardians. [caption id="attachment_17142" align="aligncenter" width="479"]
"The Queering of the American Child" by Logan Lansing (image amazon.com)[/caption]The author shows how parental authority and norms are being undermined. Instead of students becoming more curious and invested in learning, they become self-absorbed, depressed, uncertain, and suspicious of their parents' values while being indoctrinated into a sex/gender cult where "anything goes." Currently in schools, a new emphasis is placed on "acceptance" and creating a "culture of belonging" instead of academic achievement. Within this "inclusive" and "safe" milieu, the child is assaulted with age-inappropriate sexual content, which the child cannot process—partly because the information is false and partly because it is age-inappropriate. This type of curriculum uses discomfort or crisis as a teaching tool, causing deep psychological disturbances for which students seek comfort. Unfortunately, the traumatizing instructor is most immediately at hand offering that comfort. Students are "love bombed" with the language of acceptance and understanding, which creates dependence on the perpetrator. The technical name for this technique is "cultic trauma bonding."This book was released on February 29th and is receiving primarily 5-star reviews by thankful readers.
