In 2020, King County voters decided to allow the County Executive Dow Constantine to SELECT his own sheriff.
So far this month, King County Sheriff Patti Cole-Tindall who refers to Dow Constantine as "her boss" has chosen to continue ignoring what voters, legislators, AND the Supreme Courts of the United States and Washington State have to say.
Cole-Tindall just released a Press Release today (7/31/24) that countermands the new State police pursuit law, and thereby ties the hands of her King County Deputies as to when they may pursue criminals.
