by Marie Jones. Parkside Garden Club’s longstanding annual plant sale is this coming Saturday,May 11th. With the yearly signature event at hand, we thought it would be fun to introduce you to this local club.[caption id="attachment_17223" align="aligncenter" width="600"]

Parkside Garden Club Plant Sale Flyer[/caption]Deb Andrews, the club president, sent us this excellent description:Parkside Garden Club was formed in 1961 and currently has 67 members. Theclub meets monthly from September through June and enjoys a variety of activities. These include maintaining the Blue Star Memorial Marker in Normandy Park, field trips, guest speakers, hands-on projects, and garden tours.From the yearly plant sale, proceeds go directly to support horticultural education, local public gardens, parks, and youth programs.Parkside is a member of the Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs/Chinook District. Through this organization there are a wide variety of horticultural, landscape, and design classes available to members.If you get the chance, be sure to stop by this coming Saturday.
