May 23: Grand Opening & Open House for DESC-Bloomside

DESC’s new Burien Permanent Supportive Housing project in Burien.

DESC is holding the grand opening of Bloomside, 801 SW 150th St., Burien, on May 23. Here is their invitation to the Burien community to learn more.[caption id="attachment_5520" align="aligncenter" width="625"]

Bloomside is DESC’s first permanent supportive housing outside of the city of Seattle. We’re looking forward to welcoming our tenants, highly vulnerable adults living with disabilities and experiencing long-term homelessness, in late May and early June.

• Come from 2-3 p.m. for the Grand Opening and to hear speakers (space for this is limited and could fill)
• and/or
• Come any time between 4-7 p.m. for the Open House, to tour the building and learn about its unique features, meet the Bloomside team and learn about our services and our tenants.

Burien PSH is now Bloomside

As described on their DESC.org website,

"Bloomside is special in several ways, including in the colorful, intricate murals on two sides, and for which it’s named. This is DESC’s first PSH outside of the city of Seattle, and 25 of the 95 studio apartments are reserved for veterans. Eligible residents are single adults living with disabilities, who are highly vulnerable, earn less than $31,620 (30% of the area median income) and who have been experiencing homelessness for over one year. DESC provides full wrap-around services for our tenants."
